On the opposite side of the room is a thick metal door, with a hand wheel.  The barbarian tries to turn the wheel, but it does not even wiggle.  He notices, now that he's closer, a lot of small thin hatches in the patina.  It slowly dawns on him that these are fingernail marks, clawed into the surface in desperation.

"We need to go back, everyone.  Now!"
