Portal, Frozen Plain

The air has been getting cooler as you approach the clearing in the woods.  Once you are clear of the trees, you can clearly see a crescent of ice and snow where it has no business being.  Between the frozen horns the air swirls with a blizzard of snow in the blue and darkening air.  Will you enter what is clearly a portal to somewhere else?

The pack of wolves and stirges have been killing you in a death of a thousand cuts.  They just keep coming.  The sorcerer, with almost his last ounce of strength hastily throws out a teleportation spell.  It looks like you are bound for somewhere cold, but that's maybe better than the snarling death closing in on your party.
